Description

The major flaw and immediate cause of most virus/worm e-mail infections is that when a message is downloaded by an e-mail client - it is already TOO LATE. Malicious code executes before anything can be done to prevent it.

Mailbox Guard lets you see all incoming mail right on the server, and remove unwanted or suspicious messages right there. The program makes message selection very easy. It pre-screens mail and 'ranks' every message according to a four-level risk scale, which is presented as colour tags. It can even automatically mark for deletion messages that meet predefined criteria, simplifying the process even further.

The core component is a smart, parsing engine, which is trained to recognize patterns specific to messages which carry dangerous or offending contents. It uses both algorithmic and heuristic methods to determine the risk level.

Mailbox Guard can also work in the background, checking for new mail periodically. When new mail arrives, it notifies the user and provides immediate indication about the risk level. The colour dot on the envelope acts as an instant status indicator. If it is gray, there are no new messages. If it changes colour, new messages are waiting and the risk is denoted by the colour of the dot. If the mouse is moved over the icon, it reveals quick status (last-checked time and number of messages).

Other features include unlimited e-mail account management, background mail check, notification on new mail, user-definable lists, plain-text preview, html-tag filter, remote preview and delete of all e-mails from multiple accounts (without downloading to PC).

Mailbox Guard automatically tests and reports on connection speed, provides scan-status database for all accounts, has master view and account status line, and easy Add/Remove mail senders to Black-list or White-list with one click.
