DescriptiondSPAM is a dedicated e-mail filtering system, employing a combination of "key-phrase" matching, heuristic analysis, blacklists and trusted lists to provide a range of levels of protection against unsolicited e-mail messages, combined with real-time program updates for maximum security. The key phrase filters are updated by technicians, based on the contents of actual "spam" messages received in the "honey pot" mailboxes dotted around the Internet. Updates are posted on an hourly, or even minute-by-minute basis. You can report any unwanted messages that make it through, via the integrated notification system. E-mail addresses (or whole domains) can be marked as "trusted", in which case all e-mails from that source are accepted. Alternatively, addresses and domains can be added to your own personal blacklist - useful for those mailing lists that you once joined, but where unsubscribing has become a problem. dSPAM can also be set to reject e-mails with different types of suspicious HTML content. These exploits include the "Iframes" and rogue ActiveX controls that can be used to attack your computer, and the in-line images that can be used to identify your e-mail address as "live" to the spammers. dSPAM works with all POP3 e-mail clients, such as Outlook Express, Outlook and Eudora. This Business Server Edition offers protection for any number of mailboxes on a Local Area Network. Advanced users can access POP3 mailboxes directly, with the ability to browse, read, delete and retrieve individual e-mail messages from the remote mail server. |
