Alteros 3D is a universal file viewer with customizable interface. The program allows viewing of any 3D files (3DS, MAX, VRML, TrueSpace, LightWave and many other formats), as well as 2D graphical files (JPEG, BMP, GIF and many others).

The built in text editor allows viewing and editing of TXT and RTF files. The program can also display HTML files and other documents via OLE interface (requires installed Internet Explorer).

The program interface can be easily set up with the help of the skins. Alteros 3D has its own desktop files format- ADESK. Using ADESK files you can create graphical interfaces with the program start up commands, files and directories display.

The program allows you to open any number of documents simultaneously. A convenient files manager is used in order to switch between the documents designed in Windows Taskbar style.

Other features include support of image formats PSD (Adobe Photoshop), PNG, TIFF, PPM, CEL (Autodesk), IFF (EA/Amiga interchange file format), Autodesk FLI/FLC (first frame only) , Softimage PIC, and Playstation TIM, a filebrowser with directory tree, customizable TopLevel in filebrowser, new items in TopLevel, thumbnails mode, multilanguage support and DVD, Video and Audio files playback.
