Viscosity is an excellent pixel-based, 2D-animation software package primarily used for creating, editing, and publishing web graphics and video.

Viscosity fuses the process of image editing and animation by fully integrating individual frame editing, animation effects, and real-time playback. Editing features include extensive drawing and selection tools, brushes, multiple layers, and image filters - all of which can be used on a single frame or a selection of frames simultaneously. Along with variable image filter settings (across a series of frames), transition effects, and advanced frame editing functions, Viscosity is the ideal tool for creating animations.

To publish images and animations for the web, Viscosity incorporates an interactive save preview (showing the resulting image or animation, download time and file size), with common web file formats, such as GIF, JPEG, and PNG. The GIF export engine compresses files optimally, with user options available to control quality and colours.
